Licad to Perform with Wynton Marsalis to Film Homage to Louis Armstrong

Set to a musical score by Wynton Marsalis and Louis Moreau Gottschalk and performed by the Wynton Marsalis Septet and pianist Cecile Licad, Louis is a film homage to Louis Armstrong, Charlie Chaplin and the birth of the great American art form, jazz. Set in 1907 New Orleans and shot in the style of silent film by Academy Award®-winning cinematographer Vilmos Zsigmond, Louis tells the moving story of a young boy born into poverty who dreams of playing the trumpet.

Premieres August 25 at Chicago Symphony Center.
