BVA Welcomes Artist Manager Richard V.S. Lee

Barrett Vantage Artists is proud to announce the addition of artist manager Richard V.S. Lee. Richard started in November and is working primarily with ensembles and special projects.

Richard V.S. Lee has enjoyed one of the most varied careers in classical music. Over the course of 25 years, he has worked in music publishing at Carl Fischer and Peermusic Classical, in orchestra management at the New York Chamber Symphony, Brooklyn Philharmonic, and New World Symphony, in education at Gemini Youth Orchestras, and as a recording executive at the Milken Archive of American Jewish Music for Naxos. Along the way, he has taught high school music, written film and theater orchestrations, and created database applications to manage music administration tasks. Richard began his career as a composer, and holds degrees from the Yale School of Music, where he studied composition with Jacob Druckman, Martin Bresnick, and Nicholas Maw. His compositions and arrangements have been performed and recorded in the US and Europe, including at the United Nations and Carnegie Hall.

Richard adds:
"I am absolutely delighted to join Barrett Vantage, an agency with such a tremendous tradition, and especially to be working with colleagues with so much experience and wisdom. It's hard to think that after a quarter century in the industry, I'm now the 'new kid on the block,' but I can't think of a better adventure to be starting!"
