Michigan Opera Theater Names Stephen Lord Principal Conductor

Stephen Lord has been appointed to the newly created position of principal conductor of the Michigan Opera Theatre, as it continues to search for a successor to retiring founder David DiChiera.

The two year appointment is effective immediately. Lord has been a frequent conductor at MOT since 2004 and last led the orchestra in the March 2016 production of Macbeth. As principal conductor, Lord will have a lead role in all artistic matters at MOT including programming, casting, and auditions.
