Soprano Chelsea Shephard will sing the role of Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas with the Madison Bach Musicians on April 7th and 8th, for the culminating performances of their season. The vocalists will be joined by dancers and a 14-piece Baroque ensemble.

Soprano Kelly Kaduce will sing the title role of Tosca with Michigan Opera Theatre beginning Saturday at the Detroit Opera House, with Stephen Lord conducting. The opera is a co-production with the Cincinatti Opera. Mr. Lord calls Puccini’s work “a timeless story of power and manipulation” whose themes are relevant today.

Joseph Dennis will sing the role of Edgardo in Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor with the Virginia Opera, as well as the tenor solo in Beethoven's ninth Symphony with the Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra next weekend. "Lucia" is the last production of Virginia Opera's 2017-18 season. The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra calls their soloists "...some of the most sought-after opera singers today."

Tenor David Gordon, considered an expert on all things Bach, will join the 2018 Bach Festival, presented by the Bach Society of St. Louis, as a lecturer and coach. Running April 8 through 28, its events include everything from soprano Marlissa Hudson singing “From Bach to Bernstein” to a complete performance of Bach’s great St. Matthew Passion, conducted by artistic director A. Dennis Sparger.

Cellist Colin Carr will perform in the season-opening concert for the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra. Soprano Audrey Luna will sing the role of Controller in Jonathan Dove's 1998 opera Flight with the Des Moines Metro Opera 46th summer festival. It will be the work's company premiere.

Baritone Željko Lučić sings the title role of Verdi's Macbeth, with Anna Netrebko as his doomed wife, in the Royal Opera House Covent Garden production that opened on March 25th. The April 4th performance of the opera will be broadcast live in cinemas around the globe.

Soprano Jeanine De Bique will sing the title role in Handel's Rodelinda, in the Theatre Des Champs-Élysées' 2018-19 Season. Emmanuelle Haïm will conduct Le Concert d’Astrée ensemble during the performance on December 10th, 2018.

Soprano Audrey Luna will perform in a concert entitled "Americana" with the Maui Chamber Orchestra this sunday, March 25th at the Historic Iao Theater in Wailuku. The concert will feature works by Aaron Copland and others.

Tenor Vale Rideout will perform in one of a series of concerts in celebration of what would have been composer-conductor Leonard Bernstein's 100th birthday. The series is entitled "Happy Birthday Lenny", and this concert will occur on March 24th at 7pm.

Mezzo soprano Marietta Simpson will star alongside Frederica von Stade in the new opera Sky on Swings, by composer Lembit Beecher and librettist Hannah Moscovitch, as part of Opera Philadelphia's 2018-19 season. The opera centers around the effects of Alzheimer's disease.

Thomas Adès's opera The Exterminating Angel will premiere on the PBS series "Great Performances" this Sunday, March 25th at 12pm. The production stars soprano Audrey Luna as Leticia, and features mezzo soprano Catherine Cook as Camila.

Soprano Heather Buck, contralto Malin Fritz and tenor David Blalock have been announced in West Edge Opera's 2018 Festival. Ms. Buck will sing the role of the Marquise de Merteuil in Luca Francesconi's opera Quartett, Mr. Blalock will sing Pelléas in Debussy's Pelléas & Mélisande, with Ms. Fritz to sing Geneviéve in the same opera.

Mezzo soprano Theodora Hanslowe is one of the soloists in the Westminster Choir College's concert celebrating 100 years since Leonard Bernstein's birth, occuring on Sunday, March 25 at 7:30pm in Bristol Chapel on the campus of Westminster Choir College in Princeton. The concert is entitled "Happy Birthday Lenny".

Pianist Cecile Licad started the year with a bang, getting a standing ovation at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall on January 18th. She obliged with two encores by Gotschalk and Ravel, after performing a program of Liszt (“Sonata in B minor,” and the “Mephisto Waltz No. 1” as arranged by Ferruccio Busoni), and American composers Edward MacDowell and Elie Siegmeister.

Soprano Jeanine De Bique will perform music by Mozart, Wolf, and others, along with Caribbean folk tunes at Bennett Gordon Hall on March 24.  Ms. De Bique makes her debut with Ravinia Festival as part of their winter concert series.

Baritone Stephen Powell will sing the title role of Verdi's Rigoletto in San Diego Opera's 2018-19 season. In addition, he will join soprano Ailyn Pérez for "One Amazing Night," an evening of favorite arias and duets which will mark the final event of the upcoming season.

Boston Lyric Opera’s upcoming 2018–2019 season will feature a new production of Poul Ruders and Paul Bentley’s opera adaptation of The Handmaid’s Tale. Performances will run May 3–11, 2019, with Anne Bogart directing. Tenor Matthew DiBattista will sing the role of the Doctor.

Semperoper Dresden has announced its 2018-19 Season, and Barrett Artist Joseph Dennis will be featured in six upcoming productions. The tenor will sing Tamino in Die Zauberflöte, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Brighella in Ariadne auf Naxos, The Steuermann in Der Fliegende Holländer, as well as featured roles in Fidelio and Die Entführung aus dem Serail.

Violist Nokuthula Ngwenyama will be one of the judges in the 2018 Primrose International Viola Competition, to be held in Los Angeles from June 10-16. The competition is  presented by The Colburn School and the American Viola Society in conjunction with the American Viola Society Festival.

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City has announced its 2018-19 season, which will include Andrew Sinclair’s production of Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers, conducted by Antony Walker. Soprano Maeve Höglund will sing the role of the princess Leila, while bass Christian Zaremba is Nourabad.

Tenor Scott Ramsay will join with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra and Apollo Chorus of Chicago, under the baton of Conductor Stephen Alltop, to perform Verdi's "Requiem" on March 11.

Baritone Željko Lučić will return to the Metropolitan Opera for their 2018-19 season to sing Iago in a revival of Bartlett Sher’s 2015 production of Verdi's Otello, beginning in December 2018. Gustavo Dudamel makes his Met debut conducting, Stuart Skelton will sing the title role, with Sonya Yoncheva as Desdemona.
