The University of Chicago has announced their 2018-19 season of concerts, which will include a new university-centered contemporary music series, and a new world music series. Clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein is among the artists appearing in their "Classic Concert Series".

The Lyric Opera of Kansas City has announced its 2018-19 season, which will include Andrew Sinclair’s production of Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers, conducted by Antony Walker. Soprano Maeve Höglund will sing the role of the princess Leila, while bass Christian Zaremba is Nourabad.

Tenor Scott Ramsay will join with the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra and Apollo Chorus of Chicago, under the baton of Conductor Stephen Alltop, to perform Verdi's "Requiem" on March 11.

Baritone Željko Lučić will return to the Metropolitan Opera for their 2018-19 season to sing Iago in a revival of Bartlett Sher’s 2015 production of Verdi's Otello, beginning in December 2018. Gustavo Dudamel makes his Met debut conducting, Stuart Skelton will sing the title role, with Sonya Yoncheva as Desdemona.

Baritone Matthew Worth will sing the role of "An Algerian" in a performance of Luigi Nono's Intolleranza 1960 at Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium with the American Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, March 1st. The one-act opera focuses on themes of dictatorship and facism.

Željko Lučić has been announced as one of the artists in Lyric Opera of Chicago's dynamic new season. Mr. Lučić will sing the role of Germont in Verdi's La Traviata, which will run from February to March 2019.

A recent recording of the Dvořák String Sextet, Op 48 was recently released by Harmonia Mundi, performed by the Jerusalem Quartet and featuring cellist Gary Hoffman. Gramophone UK calls it "gloriously melodic and atmospheric".

Stephen Lord will conduct Eugene Onegin as part of Atlanta Opera's 2018-19 season, which returns to the stage in a co-production with Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Hawaii Opera Theatre, Seattle Opera, and Michigan Opera Theatre.

Bass-Baritone Damien Pass will sing the Four Villians in a new production of Offenbach's Les Contes d'Hoffmann at Opera de Dijon this December. The production is called an "un-Catholic" Christmas romp, and will run from the 14 to the 23rd of December.
