Sherrill Milnes -- who sang Germont to Moffo's Violetta in La traviata on tour with the Met in 1967 -- will host the tribute; scheduled guests, all of whom appeared with Moffo at the Met, include Licia Albanese, Rosalind Elias, Kitty Carlisle Hart, Marilyn Horne, Roberta Peters, George Shirley and Risë Stevens. Film and video clips of Moffo, including several never before seen in the US, will be shown.

San Francisco Opera has announced plans to present a live, open-air simulcast of its production of Rigoletto at the Beaux Arts Civic Center Plaza on Friday, October 6 at 8 P.M., as the opera concurrently plays in the War Memorial Opera House. Stephen Lord will conduct the opera in his San Francisco Opera debut.
