Rigoletto from the Met (with Zeljko Lucic) Can be Heard on Classic FM

On Saturday, February 16th at 1PM Eastern time, the Metropolitan Opera will broadcast Verdi’s Rigoletto as part of the Met’s salute to the composer’s 200th birth anniversary. Zeljko Lucic sings the title role of the jester Rigoletto (who becomes a Don Rickles-type insult comedian in this staging), the high-rolling and high-living Duke of Mantua is sung by tenor Piotr Beczala, and Rigoletto’s daughter Gilda is sung by soprano Diana Damrau. Also in the cast are bass Stefan Koczán as the hired killer Sparafucile, and mezzo-soprano Oksana Volkova as his sister (and partner in crime) Maddalena. Michele Mariotti will conduct. You can listen in the Syracuse area on 91.3 FM, in the Utica/Rome area on 89.5, in Watertown/1000 Islands/Kingston ON on 90.9, and from anywhere here.
